• AUDITIONS FOR ORCHESTRA

Orchestra auditions are welcomed from students who play the following instruments:

 

Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass

Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Bassoon

French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Bass Trombone, Tuba

Harp

Percussion

 

• AUDITIONS FOR BIG BAND

Big Band auditions are welcomed from students who play the following instruments:

 

Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone

Trumpet, Trombone

Guitar, Bass Guitar, Double Bass

Keys/Piano

Drums

 

• AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

1. You should create a video recording of between 1.5 and 5 minutes in length

2. You should try to play something appropriate to the ensemble you are auditioning for:

• Something jazzy or syncopated for Big Band.

• Something in a baroque/classical/romantic/modern style for Orchestra

• It may be unaccompanied, or with piano/backing track accompaniment

• You should put the following information in the video description:

Name & School

Group you are auditioning for (Big Band/Orchestra)

Any relevant experience, eg School Orchestra/Band/Previous ISCMS

AUDITION SUBMISSION

1. Upload your video to a file/video sharing site such as Youtube/Youku/Vimeo/OneDrive and make sure it is viewable

2. PASTE THE LINK in your reply to the orchestra manager OR via the ISCMS contact page on the website.

 

PRIVACY SETTINGS

If you do not wish for your video to be public, please select ‘unlisted’ in YouTube. This means that anyone with the link can still access it but people without the link cannot find your video.

NB – please do not select “PRIVATE” in any file sharing format, as we won't be able to see the video.

 

The deadline for submitting your registration audition to the orchestra manager is 15th November 2024. It is a good idea to prepare for this early!

 

Please make sure you can be seen fully, and your instrument. Don’t stand too close to the camera!
