

BOB HASTY
The ISCMS Orchestra is led by Bob Hasty. Robert G. Hasty is the Music Director of the Kenosha Symphony Orchestra and the conductor of the UCF Symphony and Chamber Orchestras at the University of Central Florida School of Performing Arts where he serves as Director of Orchestral Activities. He is also Artistic Director of the International Schools Choral Music Society. For 22 years, Hasty conducted the Chamber Orchestra and the Philharmonia at the Henry and Leigh Bienen School of Music at Northwestern University where he also served as the Associate Director of Orchestras.

ISCMS has existed since 2007 as an organisation to bring together students and teachers from International Schools across Asia and The Middle East to make exceptional music in some of the best concert halls in the world.

DAVID SQUIRE
The ISCMS Choir is led by David Squire. David is one of New Zealand’s most prominent conductors, and Music Director of the New Zealand Youth Choir. Chair of the New Zealand Association of Choral Directors, he is also a national conducting advisor and tutor, and a governance board member of the New Zealand Choral Federation. David's choirs have won Grand Prix prizes in competitions all over the world, and he has conducted concert tours with them throughout Asia, Europe and North America. David has been Choral Director of ISCMS since 2018.

ALEC HAAVIK
Alec Haavik, hailing from the New York City area, arrived in Shanghai in 2005. He has led a great many legendary ensembles, including the Friction Five, performing his original fusion music, and the JZ Big Band, performing classic repertoire as well as modern big band music. He regularly performs at JZ Club, and at all of the jazz venues in Shanghai. Haavik has performed in major music festivals worldwide, including Jazz a Juan in Antibes, France, Blues to Bop in Lugano, Switzerland, and Umbria Jazz Festival in Perusia, Italy. His most recent album release is the self-titled Alec Haavik & the Shanghai Shindiggers, with his 8-piece group playing classic music as well as their own genre which they call "Future Swing". Alec pursued formal training at the Manhattan School of Music, where he earned a Master’s degree in Jazz Performance, studying with acclaimed saxophonists Dick Oatts, Mark Turner, and Dave Tofani. Alec has performed, toured and/or recorded with many luminaries of jazz music, including Dee Dee Bridgewater, Victor Wooten, Mike Stern, Jojo Mayer, Han Bennink, Jane Monheit, Ronnie Burrage, Daniel Carter, Taro Koyama, Gregory Hutchinson, Shoko Nagai, and Eric Harland, among many others. In addition, Alec has performed with many mega-stars of Chinese pop music, including Shunza, Karen Mok, Li Rong Hao, Jane Zhang, and Cai Xu Kun.
